The earlier lay-outs were cast aside as I decided to make the traditional symbol of love, a Heart, a graphically important element of the design.

In this sketch, you can see the introduction of a loose, flowing Heart. You can also see that, initially, the verse was going to be enclosed in the heart-shape. This piece would have been a little tedious to stitch and was completely devoid of that all-important element... IMAGINATION.
