While the CN Tower is a fairly recent addition to Toronto's cityscape, the Flat Iron Building has a long history and is a favourite of my husband and myself. The Tower, which can be seen in the distance from the Flat Iron Building, has some very interesting neighbours ... Skydome (home of the Toronto Blue Jays); the Air Canada Centre (home of the Toronto Maple Leafs and of the Raptors); Union Station and the Hockey Hall of Fame.

The CN Tower & Flat Iron Building is just one of a larger series of designs. The concept was inspired by a stitcher's search for Canadian landscape pieces that are small enough to be stitched into coasters.

I'd like to thank Jo G., of Westlock, Alberta, for pointing out that the most common, commercially available coasters for cross-stitch provide openings that are no smaller than 3" wide. Please check your coaster size and, if this is the case, use a fabric that is NO LESS THAN 22-count (over 1).
