Me & Grandad in his back garden... looking at this picture now, I'm remember what a lovely, gentle person Grandad was. It also makes me sorry that you can't see how beautiful the garden really was (within its' corrugated iron 'walls').

From early Spring, this garden was full of Snowdrops, Daffodils, Tulips, Lily-of-the-Valley, Snapdragons, Peonies, Lavender, Dahlias, Allysym, Pansies... more flowers than I could possibly remember or name here. There was a small shed, just beside the scullery, where Grandad and I would polish his brass ornaments on the weekend and strangley enough, although there were no indoor toilet facilities, there was a proper flush toilet in a wooden outhouse at the end of the garden!
