CHARTPACK INCLUDES:

DESIGN DETAILS... Down the Garden Path is a playable game which may either be finished as described in the finishing instructions or, of course, be placed in a frame. It measures approximately 16" x 16".
Stitchers and children alike will be delighted by the whimsy of this game and by the textural elements of the needlework itself. After rolling the dice, each player leaves the cobweb-strewn old shed and enters the 'Ladybug Trail' at Wisteria Walk. Hopefully, no gardening efforts are cut short by the sparkling, but deadly, hazard of a late frost! Exceptionally lucky players will discover the 'shortcut through the Holly Bush' and could win the game very quickly... IF they don't fall asleep beside the pond and miss their turns! Play continues along Labernum Lane (where rabbits lie in wait to munch on your tender, young vegetables); across Teasel Terrace (where organic gardeners are amply rewarded) and down Poppy Place (take the time to build a scare crow and you'll get to move ahead). The first player to arrive at the charming, renovated garden-house... a vibrant space filled with beaded Hollyhocks, Topiaries, Garden Peas and Cauliflowers; glittering Dragonflies and beautiful Hanging Baskets... has succeeded in transforming the garden and has won the game.
Embroidering "Down the Garden Path" is easy, quick and very interesting. The game is made up of many small elements (most of which can be easily completed in a single stitching session). These provide a great variety of stitching experience and the satisfaction of completion at every turn. A space has also been provided on the game to include your own name as the stitcher of this piece. My mother and grandmother were both great needleworkers and I would have loved for them to have been able to make and play a game like this with my brother, cousins and myself... I hope that you feel the same.
