Ice Skater

The skater's solid-coloured costume fades as it slides beneath her transparent over-skirt (as does her hair as it becomes visible only through her sleeve.) Her bodice, wrist and neck bands are encrusted with Mill Hill beads. You can quite easily omit the cascading leaves, if you prefer.

Norma, from California, stitched the 'Ice Skater' for her niece...

Since 14-year old Rebecca wears a blue and yellow skating costume, her talented Aunt adjusted the original to more closely represent her. As you can see, she also changed the skater's hair from auburn to dark brown; replaced the falling leaves with tumbling snowflakes and wove Rebecca's name into the piece. A beautiful job, Norma... well done!
