DESIGN DETAILS... The Victorians loved to send one another illustrated letters and this piece is an illustration of Voltaire's beautiful words about Love (which are particularly appropriate for those of us who stitch). As you read this poem, you'll notice that the words that are written in red also appear as images...

Two SMALL BUTTERFLIES fly up from A TINY LANDSCAPE (A Canvas) to meet a HEART-SHAPED CHARM. This charm is dangling from a carefree HEART SHAPE, which stands in for the letter 'O' in Love. A STAR-SHAPED CHARM dots the 'I' in the word "is". A TABLE SET FOR 2 (Furnished) is decorated with a vase of flowers and several more colourful butterflies have been disturbed by A LITTLE RABBIT who's rummaging through a cluster of FLOWERS (Nature). As the THREADED NEEDLE attests, the stitched flowers on AN EMBROIDERY HOOP (Embroidered) are still a work-in-progress. A WHITE UNICORN is pulling the last word of the poem into the picture. While a HOT AIR BALLOON and A KITE lower the letters 'A', a DANDELION HEAD fills in for the letter 'O' and 2 BRASS STARS dot the 'I's' in this very important word (Imagination)... ... THE BRASS CHARMS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THIS PIECE ARE INCLUDED IN THE CHARTPACK
