Let your "Girlie" spirit soar! Please feel free to use this piece as a spring-board for your own creativity. Give the ‘Sisters’ in this piece a make-over... change the colour of their clothes and hair; add, remove or adjust their accessories; customize them to resemble some of the ‘Sisters’ who’ve enriched your life... 'Sisters' variations.
DESIGN DETAILS: Just like every living woman and young girl, each of the characters in this tribute to universal Sisterhood has a distinct personality. Let’s pay each of them a brief visit (L to R)... Holding up the first letter in the word “SISTERS”, the oldest member of the group has her trusty hand-bag on her lap and is wearing her favourite pearl jewellery. Letter “I” is being held by a smartly-dressed black woman who’s demonstrating her great taste in clothing and accessories (is she about to ‘do lunch’ with her equally fashionable friends?). The groups’ athlete has taken to her bicycle today but remembered to put on her “S” shirt before she left home. Every group has its’ rebel and, from her blue-streaked hair, thigh-high boots and belly-button piercing, our young halter-wearing woman is no exception (is she off to a club? Or, perhaps, she‘s taking her little sister to a movie?). To her right, our proudly expectant mother gently rests her arm across her swollen abdomen (is this the anxious gesture of a first-time Mom? Or the knowing contentment of a confident mother of five?) Our jacketed, scarf-wearing Sister is a bit of a mystery... is she a sales clerk? A flight attendant? Or, maybe, she’s off to apply for a new position as CEO of a major corporation! The tiniest and last member of our Sisterhood stands bravely alone... the final letter ‘S’ and the future are both in her hands.

Shirley T. of Ottawa
found a brilliant way to combine her love of stitching with a tribute to the staff and ladies of her local 'Curves' group.
Well done, Shirley, and congratulations on your success at 'Curves'!
Terry Louise of Tasmania
also chose to adjust her 'Sisters' needlework. She gave the 'i' lady some red ringlets and allowed the pregnant mother and the career woman to swap letter-posters. Like Shirley, Terry Louise not only did a fabulous customization of this design, she too gave it away... she donated her 'Sisters' stitching to the Cancer Council of Tasmania for their Pink Ribbon Day Breakfast fund-raiser.
I'm honoured that you chose my design for your wonderful contribution to this very worthy cause, Terry Louise... thank you.
