Lynne Nicoletti Watercolours
In 2003, Guy and I visited Mackinac Island in Northern Michigan. Luckily, we knew in advance that no cars are allowed on this beautiful island and we took our own bikes across on the ferry. Hundreds of bikes are available for rent but nothing beats your own transporation (even if you have to make a pit-stop into one the island's bicycle repair shops for an emergency kick-stand installation!) On turning a corner, as we cycled around the perimeter of the island, we came across 'a field of Muskoka chairs' awaiting the sun-worshippers who were staying at a swank hotel... it was at that moment that I decided to paint this picture (approx. 2" x 2 1/4").
P.S. In your neck of the woods, these chairs may be more commonly called "Adirondack chairs".
