DESIGN DETAILS

In this piece, a leafless central silhouette stands in stark contrast to a gently windblown snowshower which blankets the whole design area and gathers at the foot of the tree. This darkly dormant tree is held within a sparkling, beaded, Blackworked border of variegated evergreen boughs (Crescent Colours: Spinach); frosty, silver-threaded snowflakes; Ice (MH 02010) and Crystal Aqua beads (MH 42017). The border, in turn, is surrounded by two Satin-stitched frames... one, a glistening, fluffy snowbank of specialty fiber. The other, a pure and simple enclosure of winter-y white floss.

32-count Cobblestone Belfast Linen by Zweigart (#3609/781/55)

*I feel very strongly that this design needs ample room to ‘breathe’ within it’s frame and, when chosing my fabric cut, I allowed a 2” unstitched border between the last row of Satin stitches and any framing. This meant starting with a 14" x 14" piece of fabric. If you feel this is too generous a margin, by all means, adjust your fabric size accordingly.
