This image is probably pretty confusing to you, isn't it?

Looking at it now, it's hard to believe that it provided the connection between clothing sketches and the doll herself.

What you see here are 2 picture - one on top of the other. There's a piece of graph paper with a naked stick-figure and a clear, plastic overlay with a rather ugly line drawing of a bridal gown. Believe it or not, it was this device that allowed me to determine the necessary scale for the 2 pieces (doll and dress) to match. The scribbles that you see all around the pages are early thoughts about materials (Pearlescent thread; Silver Kreinik; large pearls; small ice (this refers to Mill Hill bead 02010, etc.) and various design options (transparent areas, the need for a veil, etc.)
