As we've already agreed, a paper doll has no use for clothes that don't fit!
So, in order for this project to succeed, it was essential that the costumes and the doll be designed to the same scale. CONFESSION TIME... numbers and I just don't get along! Anything that's even vaguely mathematical throws me into a hideous panic (so does public speaking... but that's a whole different story).
Let's get back to the Math.
As I said, Math and I don't exactly see eye-to-eye... and scale involves Math. Let's see now... the Perforated Paper which I've chosen as a base for the doll's clothes is 14 squares to the inch... the grid I use for designing is 10 squares to the inch... the little gown sketch measures 5 1/2" from neck to hem... the doll sketch measures 10 1/2" from the top of her head to her shoes... ... hmm ... okay, pass the Aspirin I'm getting a headache!
