For some reason, I never developed the habit of using floss bobbins (in fact, until a few years ago, my flosses were allowed to form a vicious tangle in an old cookie tin). Since then, I've tried several different options and only recently stumbled upon this method of organizing my threads while working on "Thimbelina: The Needlework Fairy".
Threads are pre-cut to usable lengths and attached to 1" plastic curtain rings (along with tags that identify the floss number). The rings are then placed, in numeric order, on a large loose-leaf paper ring.
Like many stitchers, I keep track of my stitching by running a magic marker through what's been stitched. Some stitchers laminate their charts in order to use the marker-method but still preserve the original chart.
